Senior Vice President for Products and Experience

Cynthia DuBose is McClatchy’s Senior Vice President for Products and Experience. In this role, she drives cross-departmental collaboration to develop new platforms, experiences and products.   

Throughout her career, Cynthia has played an integral role in  developing and launching local, customer-centric digital products. She is a master at  leveraging content distribution channels (social, audio, video, SEO) to  help  local news organizations reach the right audience at the right time.  Cynthia  has championed product  roadmaps, conceived novel user experiences, spearheaded AI strategy initiatives, developed analytics, project management, and SEO capabilities, and launched reimagined e-Editions. 

At McClatchy, her titles have included VP, Audience Growth & Content Monetization; Managing Editor, Audience Engagement; and Sr. Editor, Special Projects. Cynthia started her career as a reporter at her hometown newspaper, New York Newsday and has worked at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Cox Media Group-owned start up, Fans1st Media. 

Her love for digital media extends beyond her day job. She currently sits on the board of the Local Media Association and has served as a coach for several City University of New York’s (CUNY) Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism programs. 

An active PTA member, Cynthia strives to give back to her community. She is a current Girl Scout leader and a board member of The HrlmGirl Project, Inc., which seeks to have a positive impact on teenage girls by curating travel experiences with culture, community service and education. 

Cynthia is a graduate of Spelman College, Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, and CUNY’s Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism’s Executive Program in News Innovation and Leadership. In 2024, she received the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism's inaugural Executive Leadership Alumni Award for her outsized impact in her career, newsroom, and the news industry.

Experts will cover branding, audience engagement, monetization, and scaling strategies. Attendees will gain insights into creating media that aligns with their mission and long-term goals.
