Eden Turner

Reporting Fellow

Eden Turner is a reporting fellow for The 19th. After graduating from college in December 2023, she served as the education and politics reporter for the Times-News in Twin Falls, Idaho, a small town in the center of the Magic Valley.

At the 19th, Turner writes community-driven stories highlighting how policy impacts marginalized communities. Since the beginning of her fellowship in October, she has contributed to breaking news coverage on President Donald Trump's first weeks in office, including his executive orders impacting DEI positions and trans servicemembers, and has written enterprise stories showcasing important issues, such as the lack of positive portrayals of Black girls in popular media and Native American women stepping into leadership roles and reclaiming their culture.

She is a proud Savannah State alumna with a bachelor’s in journalism and mass communications and a minor in English. In her free time, she loves learning more about the world and spending time with friends and family.
