Kristen B. Reed is a dynamic media executive serving as Director of Content at TEGNA, where she serves a group of news leaders across multiple stations. Currently, she leads TEGNA's national streaming team, developing content strategies that power the company's local OTT apps.

 

With a passion for journalism, Kristen specializes in creating data-driven content strategies that grow audiences while delivering the essential local news communities rely on. Her expertise lies in crafting digital narratives that both inform and connect with viewers, particularly stories that highlight injustices and hold power to account.

 

As a champion for inclusive journalism, Kristen advocates for diverse newsroom representation as a foundation for both journalistic excellence and community service.

 

Kristen holds a Mass Communication degree from Brenau University in Gainesville, GA, a master's in broadcast journalism from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, and an MBA as part of the pioneering cohort of the nation's only Executive Women's MBA program at Brenau.

 

Prior to her current leadership role, Kristen served as Digital Content Director at Atlanta's 11Alive/WXIA, where she advanced from digital producer through several editorial leadership positions after joining in 2015. Her career also includes experience as a multi-media reporter and digital producer at The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, Mississippi, and as an associate digital video producer for the USA TODAY Network. Kristen has served on the Online News Association and Southeast National Association of Television Arts and Sciences boards of directors.
